Our first trip to Prince of Wales Island started out great! We
were met at the Hollis Ferry terminal by Darren Lamp of Hollis
Adventure Rentals. The vehicle we rented was in great condition
and the standard extra’s that Hollis Adventure Rentals provided
were amazing! We had never before rented a car with
binoculars, Spot Messenger, emergency provisions, detailed
maps and he even threw in a few extra’s above that if we needed
them. But, above all we were impressed with his friendly
attitude and sincerity. The rest of our time on POW Island was
wonderful as well, and we met a lot of nice people. Maybe it’s
something in their water! Anyway, when we come back this fall,
we will surely rent from Hollis Adventure Rentals again!
Our first trip to Prince of Wales Island started out great! We
were met at the Hollis Ferry terminal by Darren Lamp of Hollis
Adventure Rentals. The vehicle we rented was in great condition

| Darren at Hollis Adventure Rentals is awesome! I had to make last minute arrangements for a vehicle so I could drive the 2 1/2 hours to Whale Pass. We made the reservations over the phone and Darren took care of the rest. He met me at the ferry in Hollis, had the vehicle ready to go and had thought of everything- even a GPS tracker, in case of emergency, which I greatly appreciated since I was traveling alone. He went the extra mile and took me to my place of lodging and helped expedite that process so I could get on the road ASAP. The vehicle was well maintained and reliable. We rented a car from Hollis Adventure Rentals and it was
extremely convenient. They had the car waiting for us at the
ferry loaded, gassed up and ready to go. It came with everything
we needed to explore the island safely. We traveled almost
1000 miles on the island in one week. If I do it again I would rent
a boat and camping equipment.

Adventure Rentals regarding an automobile to use while we
were on the island. At the time, all vehicles were booked.
Darren went out of his way and allowed us to rent his personal
use Subaru. We had a great week along with a few Cohos.
We're planning a similar trip this August and will be in contact
with Hollis Adventure Rentals soon."

In September 2009, our group of four hunters were very fortunate to
connect with Darren Lamp and the Hollis Adventure Rentals family for
our hunting trip to Prince of Whales Island. Their attention to detail,
honest and open approach to do business, and focus on serving the
customer was a bonus to our trip that we really were not expecting.
They provided us with a lot of little extras that really made our trip less
complicated and more enjoyable. We rented a skiff which was very
well equipped and was everything we were told it was. We did
experience some damage to the skiff from a rough low tide escape and
Hollis Adventure Rentals was very fair in making things right. Our trip
was presented with challenges due to last minute hunting regulation
changes and the Lamp family helped us salvage our trip by filling in the
holes we could not cover. After finishing our hunt, we felt we had new
friends in Alaska and not just another business contact. Alaska
travelers are fortunate to have Hollis Adventure Rentals as an option
when wanting to experience the real Alaska. - Randy Filkins Michigan

----Our experience with the Lamps was great. The boat we rented
was in very good shape and did all we required of it. On my next
trip I will try to rent a vehicle from them and go sightseeing.

| Breton Friel Bend, Oregon Hollis Adventure Rentals was fabulous to work with. Darren was very personal and went the extra mile to outfit the vehicle with everything I wanted or possibly could have needed for my visit. Alice was well endowed with very nice features; fully equipped to provide me with a good time on the Island. I would gladly rent her again, and I will definitely use Hollis Adventure Rentals again for all of my rental needs on Prince of Wales Island in the future! |
